Surprise!

I just popped in to say...

I didn't mean to stay away for so long. Guess what? This month, my brother treated me to a few days in Maui. All expenses paid!

What a blessing!

We went to a Luau...

And there was lots of time for rest, relaxation... and just appreciating the natural beauty of Maui.

I will never forget it. Part of me is still there... Part of me wants to sell everything, live in a shack & sell T-shirts there...anything, just anything to make a modest living. Then I could enjoy the surroundings everyday. I felt the same way when I vacationed in Tahiti...

Planning any trips lately? Have you been to Hawaii? If so, what's your favorite Hawaiian island?

Celebrating Color!

I brake for all things colorful...LITERALLY! How about you? I stopped in the center "island" to get this shot in Los Angeles:

Mural by Eduardo Kobra

It's one of my favorite murals! You can see more of Eduardo Kobra's work on his website. Just click the link below:

I'm expecting 2 of these beauties from Midwest Maude (Etsy):

To get them while you can in Karen's Midwest Maude shop, just click **RIGHT HERE**. I scooped up the blue & orange flower rings (shown on the left and right). I can't wait to display my 60s Flower Power!

And lastly, ...
What do you think about these silk lanterns from Vietnam?

I say they're RAINBOW heaven.

What colors are you drawn to?

Thanks so much for stopping by...

Shades of Pink

Well, they got me! Look at these *PINK* beauties that called to me from the newsstand:
Gwen...

Carmen Ejogo, Jordin Sparks, Tika Sumpter...

And last, but not least - - Katy Perry...

The ladies on the Ebony cover star in the movie, "Sparkle". It's Whitney Houston's last film. Can't wait to learn more about it.

September issues of fashion magazines are usually bigger than all the rest. Can't wait to dive into these. I love to look at all the eye candy, including the ads (and there's a ton)! Plus, the magazines are so heavy that you can use them for a weapon after you're done - - if you can lift them! LOL.

Well, now you know what I'll be doing this weekend. How about you?

Thanks for stopping in!
God Bless & XOX

P.S.  I'm writing this post from the road. I'm using some equipment that I'm not used to, so I wasn't able to crop the scans of the magazine covers (to get rid of the gray area).

Debrina Pratt Whimsical Goodies!

Ah, the simple pleasures in life! I look at these adorable, whimsical creations on my desk every day:

They just make me happy! Both are by artist, Debrina Pratt. Each stand about 5 or 6 inches tall. They are perfect for display, especially if you don't have a lot of room on your desk.

Debrina gives vintage photos a second life by sprinkling pixie dust on them. Well, I don't really know what she does...but, glitter and Swarovski crystals are involved. LOL. Would you like to know more about Debrina & her art? I'll put links below. Just click on any category:

Christmas Ornaments by Midwest Maude

Can you believe this Thursday is December 1st? Start the Christmas countdown! If you are looking for whimsical gift ideas, look no further! I just bought two lovely, handmade ornaments from "Midwest Maude".

A COLORFUL, wooden Matryoshka doll:

AND A WISE, bejeweled owl:

Aren't they precious?! They were made by Karen Serrie (also known as Midwest Maude). Karen also has seahorses, mushrooms and peacock ornaments available in her etsy shop. It took everything I had not to purchase those, too! LOL. I am on a budget, you know.

If you'd like to take a look at the Midwest Maude shop, just click on this link:
