Orange is for October!

Happy October!

Do you remember your first car? Mine was a Volkswagen. However,  I didn't have the pleasure of riding with these two cuties!

How is your month going so far?

My agenda for October includes going to a classic car show,

attending the first ever Hello Kitty convention in Los Angeles, and of course, some trick-or-treating! 

What's your favorite candy? My husband loves candy corn. I'm into chocolate bars like "Snickers" & "Baby Ruth". 

Offline, I am still plugging away on developing the blog.

While I have pushed the "pause" button on this space until the New Year, I marvel at anyone who can keep the posts coming two or more times a week. BRAVO! I hope I can join that club next year. Please keep your fingers crossed :) .

Celebrating Color: Orange & Pink Party!

Howdy. "Orange & Pink" has to be one of my favorite color combinations in the world. I'm biased, because I look at polka-dotted, orange & pink curtains everyday (in my office). And they make me very, very happy!

So, on with the party! I tore this ad out of a magazine:

I don't remember when I did it, or what magazine the ad came from. See, I was too busy drooling over the fabulous, color saturation...so I forgot to make note of those facts. LOL.

The ladies on the Ebony cover star in the movie, "Sparkle". It's Whitney Houston's last film. Can't wait to learn more about it.

September issues of fashion magazines are usually bigger than all the rest. Can't wait to dive into these. I love to look at all the eye candy, including the ads (and there's a ton)! Plus, the magazines are so heavy that you can use them for a weapon after you're done - - if you can lift them! LOL.

Well, now you know what I'll be doing this weekend. How about you?

P.S.  I'm writing this post from the road. I'm using some equipment that I'm not used to, so I wasn't able to crop the scans of the magazine covers (to get rid of the gray area).

Collage Obsession: Tangerine Tango

This week, Itkupilli's Collage Obsession Challenge is to create something using the color "Tangerine Tango". It's Pantone's color of the year! What's not to love about orange and all its shades? It's bright and cheery (like me, LOL)! 

On the handmade card above, the swirls and text were written with Liquid Pearls. It's a "dimensional, pearlescent paint" (by Ranger). It was my first time using it!
Since it comes in a small bottle with a FINE tip, I used it just like a pen. It was fun, yet a little tricky for me. I need to practice varying my grip, so I can control the flow of paint better. Since I am among friends, I will share a closeup:
