Collage Obsession: Music

Hello Friends! I am hosting the Collage Obsession Challenge this week! The theme is “Music”. First, let me introduce you to Viola:

Why the tears? Well, it's a L-O-N-G, long story. I will give you the short version. But first, let me show you what I created:

Oh my goodness! Can you read that?

Viola was a true diva – an opera singer. She was so devoted to her craft that her lover, Antonio, left her.  Her photo was taken as she was preparing to take to the stage for the first time - - - after hearing that Antonio had been murdered. Oh, the sadness… The heartbreak... The drama... Will she ever forgive herself for not choosing love over her career? Is she destined to be alone forever? Perhaps we’ll never know…

Let's light a candle for Viola and Antonio:

We will remember them.

Here are some details about the card:

Watermark by Enya

"Watermark", by Enya, is another one of my favorite songs. I have so many! And I plan to share most of them here -- one song at a time. I found this on "youtube". There are no words in this song, and it doesn't need any...Sometimes, I close my eyes when I listen to it.

When you play the video, you can make the ads go away on the bottom of the screen. Just click on the "X" once it appears. It will appear in the lower right of the screen. (This is not the "official" video for the song.)

Hope you enjoyed it.

KISS ME!

Here’s another one of my favorites. It’s so dreamy and sweet! I remember buying the CD single when it came out. And I still have it.

Leigh Nash describes a world that I want to live in... And you will, too.
Happy Valentine's Day!

CARIBBEAN BREEZE

While burning the candle at both ends, I’ve seen many a sunrise the past few days/weeks…Now, I’m just thinking about rest, relaxation and Caribbean breezes. How about you?

This is one of my favorites. Take 5 and go on a mental “vacay” with me. You won’t regret it!

Here's to a great week!

Collage Obsession: Family

Eila hosted the Collage Obsession Challenge and the theme was “Family.” Lucky for me! It seems I was in sync with Eila, as I had my favorite photo on my desk for the last three weeks…
This is it! It’s quite ancient, actually. It’s from the 80’s…LOL:

I decided to feature it in a scrapbook page. This is what I created:

(Click any photo for a larger view)

Here's a closeup of what I wrote about my Stepdad and my Mother:

And myself and my brother:

A few reasons that I love the family photo are:

FIRST, it shows our blended family (at a party).  My Mother remarried when I was younger, and it took everyone awhile to adjust to each other, and our new life together…We had triumphs and struggles, as all families do.

SECONDLY, it’s one of the few photos I have where we are ALL looking at the camera at the same time! LOL.

THIRDLY, and perhaps most importantly (not), I am wearing my favorite, “Hang Ten” T-shirt & white pants. OMGoodness, back-in-the-day, that was one of my go-to outfits. LOL.

Well...thanks so much for stopping by today.

As someone who recently lost a family member, my advice is to reach out to family & friends that you love, and let them know it – while they’re here…today

Thrive, God Bless & XOX

P.S.
I also have an older stepbrother and stepsister. We did not grow up together…Over the years, we’ve had many family celebrations where we were ALL present; but I don’t think I have a photo of all SIX of us (in same photo). I’m going to start searching for one today! (Smile)
