Doors

Doors are the topic at Collage Obsession this week. They can represent beginnings or endings. My take on "doors" is definitely colored by recent losses in my family.

Have you experienced the death of someone close to you? When my Father died, I wanted to die.  I wanted "time" to just ...STOP

Sometimes, the future seems dim and unclear just like this photo:
This wasn't my intention. Yet, it seems right.

Here is a clearer shot of my 12"x12" journal page:

I've come to know the "5 Stages of Grief" personally:  Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance.

Even though we all experience grief differently, knowing that there are s-t-a-g-e-s has been a great comfort. Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross discussed them in her book, "On Death and Dying" (published in 1969). To learn more about her, you may click on the following:

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look. God Bless.

Hi, Tiffany. The piece you've created is so dramatic and poignant. I know how hard it is to get through a period of loss. My thoughts are with you.

Thank you, Yvonne. (Since I'm still processing everything, it took me awhile to figure out what I wanted to say...Sometimes, it's best to start right where you are -- in the middle.)

This is truly a powerful piece, Tiffany. Your father would be proud. May you continue to have the strength to walk through that door.
