Collage Obsession: Dreams and Nightmares...

Hello there. It’s been awhile…I am easing back into my regular routine/life. Although “regular” will never seem regular again…

I’m hosting this week’s COLLAGE OBSESSION. I’ve challenged everyone to create a piece inspired by the best dream or worst nightmare that they’ve ever had.  Juicy, right?! I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!

                                             Degas' Quatro Bailarinas em Cena

As a little girl, I took ballet lessons. I wasn’t particularly good, but I enjoyed it. I always wanted a pink tutu to wear over my leotard. You know, I may still get one!

In my favorite dream
I am light as air
Floating,
Moving Swiftly,
Gaily,
Gracefully,
As if dancing on the clouds…

I am a Ballerina
With purple, silk pointe shoes
And No limitations
Leaping higher and higher,
Pirouette here,
Pas de bourrée there,
Pas jeté,
Arabesque,
All Effortless

Feeling Graceful,
Blissful,
In Harmony and
At Peace
With Myself,
With the Universe…

I am on top of the World,
I am not Afraid
I am in Control,
I am Woman,
I am…
Iam…
I am…

…And then I woke up!
I was disoriented, of course… Then, I realized that what I had just experienced, had in fact – never happened.

I was devastated.

I thought about what I just lost:
possibly the happiest, most carefree feeling I’ve ever had in my life! I had just expressed joy, passion, creativity and self-confidence on my feet…through ballet.  And I was sad because I knew that in my waking hours, I couldn’t express myself that way (not that fully anyway...because everything was perfect).

Listen, I’m sure it sounds silly, but the dream was so beautiful, I actually wanted to cry when I woke up! How do I feel today? I see myself as a supernaturally gifted dancer/artist/person - - - - in my dreams. And I’m grateful for that experience.

Thanks for letting me share that with you.
What’s your favorite dream?

Peace, God Bless & XOX

P.S.
By the way, I shared my worst nightmare in another Collage Obsession Challenge. Although “nightmares” were not the challenge topic, they were what I drew from to create my piece for that week. If you'd like to see it, just click HERE.

Tiffany, I know that feeling when you wake up from a wonderful dream and would like to go on with it but just can't go to sleep any more. But isn't it wonderful that in our dreams we can experience such fantastic feelings - and they feel just as real as real life. So let's cherish our dreams! - It's so good to see you back here in CO!
